Watched 2012 yesterday with sy, and it is a really, really good movie. Sure, there was the usual Hollywood luck and the main-character-never-dies sorta thing. But the special effects and the overall feel of the movie is really good. There were parts where were a bit of a drag, but even for such a sad show, they managed to add some comedic and funny moments that were appropriate. There were several moments in the movie which were kinda touching, and displays humanity at its best. Really worth that $7.50 I paid. Haha. I mean the show was a little more than 2.5 hours, but it didn't really felt like it. The action, I was like nervous at some parts of the show! Overall, 2012 is the shits! (:

There's this team. However, this team is rather invisibly divided into two groups. On one side, they backed the man-in-charge throughout.. through those disappointing circumstances and results, and when they saw their man-in-charge getting the boot, they decided to show their loyalty and protest his sacking. They were with him even before the lavish surroundings were placed around the team, when all looked down.
In the other corner of the room, this group of pampered, overpaid men, enjoyed the starting, having fun, enjoying the limelight, indulging in the cheers of their supporters. But once the team's form dropped, and drastically it did, they played a fool, turn their backs on the person who put his faith into them, the one in-charge of them. They weren't happy with the situation, but they didn't want to support him, work hard, and hopefully turn things around by playing well.
In the end, the man-in-charge, had a few people above him in the hierarchy.. that were his employers, and duly sacked him. His supporters in the team wanted answers, the other group wanted nothing to do with it, and to leave. I'm sure we all know which team that is.
This really is a classic example of some being really selfish, and only being there for you when they know they need you in the near future. When they know you are of no use, they don't give a shit, they walk away, leaving you in the lurch. Admittedly, I am no different, not perfect, and I have a tendency to do this at times. But I absolutely despise those that uses this to get above everyone they meet, some even to their closest friends. Just to get some small advantage in any area they want that small, tiny advantage, even throwing away strong friendships, or even emerging and those friendships that are just growing and beginning to mature. Sure, there are the temptations and benefits that make one do such thing, but think about it, is it really worth it in the end?
But I still remember those that back me all the way. Those that, even when we don't speak so often anymore, or see each other as much as we would like, one I haven't even seen for a few years; they watch my back, I watch theirs. We go through all the shit together, and come out stronger. They don't just leave when the going gets tough. Or only stay when they need you for their own benefit.
It's a point I've wanted to made for a very long time. Good that you managed to read all the way, if you really did. If you didn't I don't really care anyway, maybe you're just too busy for me. Only you know. I won't know (:
