homecoming

I just feel
damn weird going to today's Catholic High Homecoming. You could call it frustration or just confusion. Every time I think back at previous Homecomings, for most they'd remember two. Unfortunately, I would only remember one. And it was all because of that person. He forced it upon us to go to the SYF Opening Ceremony, last year. Just selling those foodstuff my class were selling just felt
'good'. Thinking back, I only remembered the Homecoming of Sec 1, 2005. I remembered having loads of fun doing the publicity part of our class stall that year. And during Sec 2, it was just expected that everyone would help. And this SYF Opening Ceremony at the National Stadium came up, and it was forced upon each class to go. I wanted to go for Sec 2 Homecoming, but he just had to force some of the
'umimportant' people to go. Today, Sec 3 2007 Homecoming, I had so much
'fun' selling those foodstuff with my classmates and friends. Just wished I had a memory of Sec 2 Homecoming to go along with the other two.
Also, today marked the end of the National Stadium of Singapore. There was a match played between Singapore Legends vs Malaysia Legends. Then a friendly was played between Singapore and Australia. It was like Mark Viduka vs Aide Iskander plus Precious, Marco Bresciano vs Mustafic Farudin, Brett Emerton vs Shi Jiayi, Lucas Neill vs Khairul Amri. Then there was the substitution of a 16 year old Singaporean debutant, Haris Herron (spelling might be wrong). Must be a dream for him, 16 years of age playing against Australian substitute Harry Kewell, Vince Grella and such. Singapore however lost 3-0. But that score masked the growing stature of Singapore's football. They played well, hit the post after a Khairul Amri effort that left Mark Schwarzer beaten, and Indra Sahdan's header from a corner that hit the crossbar. It should have been 1-1 after two efforts by Khairul Amri, but they couldn't take their chances and Australia added two more.
Mark Viduka is just too big! Haha...
What a tiring week, been only having 7 hours of sleep each night. Not very good, considering the "healthy" sleeping time is 8 hours, for us teens. So hoping to get some decent sleep tonight, and maybe play some proper football tomorrow... Please!!!
Ooh yeah gonna reveal something I bought!!!
Bye~!

So this is a post on the reflection on the past week... Back to reality after the June holidays. Same old routines. Same old faces. Same old pressure. Well at least the week's over and there's an extra day of rest in the form of Monday's
Youth Day... Which is good... Considering how tough it is to adjust back to school life and the pressure it brings after a relaxing and not really enjoyable June holidays.
Okay I'm going to do this for the first time. A
lil' rundown of my first week back at school. I know this week is not as special as, like first day of new school year as such, but nevertheless I shall do this, for the sake of it.
Monday -: Found it difficult to stay awake, and kept hoping those teachers weren't going to go through holiday homework, luckily Chinese teacher not there during double period, or
elz we
sian tiao. Had some
sorta Infocomm Meeting, in the end nothing happened and we went to play soccer. No surprises right?
Haha...
Tuesday -: Not as much stuff
happenin' today. Got through class and went home to rest and finish up the rest of my work from the holidays.
Wednesday -: Got through class again and went to sell
chma tix. Hanged around at
da iMedia studio for a while before going off, and went for tuition at night...
Thursday -: Got through class... again, I know! Sorry! Afternoon had music lessons before resting for the rest of the night.
Friday -: Today!
Haha... Released a period earlier, 12.50p.m. to supposedly help in the Home-Coming tomorrow for each others' individual class. I
din,
cos had to help with
iMedia stuff and had rehearsals from evening
til just now, at night 8.30p.m. Tomorrow still got tuition and help out at Home-Coming, my shifts' from 11.30a.m. to 1p.m. Hopefully at night can have a
lil' soccer...
Heh...
Have you got your CHMA 2007
tix yet? There are still some left, so go purchase
'em before the show on 7th July 2007, a.k.a 07.07.07.
Haha...

insights
Friday, June 08, 2007
Hmm... These days I'm trying not to have so much soccer influences on
me blog, but I just can't help it... To
try'da tone those soccer stuff a
lil'... I will present to you some phrases, you almost hear just about every other day!
Erm... one advice there, do highlight and find some parts of the entry are in black, so you probably won't be able to see it without highlighting on it... Enjoy, a tint of soccer flavour will be added on soon...
Haha.:
Take disappointments in your stride and move on.
What doesn't kills you only makes you stronger.
Be patient and always hope for the best.Practice makes perfect.
So these are the phrases that, probably are used too much in our daily lives. But as a hardcore football fan, I'll now try to add it to Liverpool's case for the pursuit of the English Premier League title... Heh... Gettin' board oredy? Sorry then, you can either leave or continue reading on...
...
Liverpool lost the UEFA Champions League final to A.C. Milan of Italy, 2-1. Every knows that story and its' kinda outdated, with the taglines of a season of failures added just because of that lost. But Liverpool's season of failures should also be because of a failed title charge and two cup defeats in the space of four days. So hopefully Liverpool can take those four disappointments in their stride and move on with next season.
It can also be said that Liverpool's fans had been branded the worse in Europe, just because of the so-called 25 incidents in the past years. UEFA has just been shying away from the blame for picking the security-lacking Athens stadium to host that UEFA Champions League final. Anyway this certainly hasn't stopped Liverpool's uber hardcore fans from continuing to show support and showing themselves as one of the most passionate supporters in the world. And it'll probably make them stronger next season at the away grounds in Europe, more noise in the stadium and hopefully help pave the way for Liverpool's sixth UEFA Champions League trophy, compared to Chelsea's ZERO (o), and Manchester United's two (2).
There, there Liverpool fans all over the world, don't be worried that there has been little transfer activities so far. Wait for the Spanish Premier Liga to be over... Just be patient, signings will eventually emerge, and hope for the best next season. Just wait...
And maybe this last phrase or advice might help. More practice on the set-pieces, yeah..? Liverpool has just not been making use of corners and free-kicks to their advantage for most of the time. So far many corners have been wasted, because of some routine, that almost always goes wrong, where Jermaine Pennant, Steven Gerrard, Xabi Alonso or even John Arne Riise would waste by playing short and screwing up the routine. The free-kicks hadn't been any better too. Laying off for Steven Gerrard or John Arne Riise isn't always the best idea. They'd probably get closed down too quickly. Use Xabi Alonso or Fabio Aurelio's curling power more often to get the ball over the wall beckham-style and into the top corner, out of the reach of the helpless goalie!! More practice on that, and maybe there'd be more perfection.
...
Looks kinda colourful, eh, this blog post. Just trying to "colourise" my blog... Haha... So I hoped you have enjoyed my insights... And tag to comment or something...

The quality of Liverpool's trophy in that huge trophy cabinet is going down. It was at the highest time during 2005, when they won the UEFA Champions League. Sadly, its gone spiraling down. Its not that I'm saying the FA Cup is not as good, although true... Its just that more trophies are needed. One trophy per season is not good enough, especially this seasons' trophy. Here's the list of trophy wins under Spanish manager Rafael Benitez.:
2004/05 - UEFA Champions League 2005 - (W 3-3, 3-2 on pens.) A.C. Milan
2005/06 - FA Cup 2006 - (W 3-3, 3-1 on pens.) West Ham United
2006/07 -
Community Shield 2007 - (W 2-1) Chelsea
As its clear for all to see, Liverpool only won the Community Shield this season!!! They won 2-1 against Chelsea, with goals from Peter Crouch and John Arne Riise. Sadly this season, as everyone knew, Liverpool lost 2-1 to A.C. Milan, again, in the UEFA Champions League final, it could have all been different. But you see, from the top prize in European football, to the oldest cup in England, to a one-off competition match, where profits went to charity. Hmm... I was hoping 2006/07 would have a English Premier League 2007... But it wasn't meant to be, then the Carling Cup and FA Cup double shot against Arsenal, proved to be Liverpool's lowest moment this season, losing 6-3 and 3-1 respectively... And yes... The 6-3 wasn't a penalty shoot-out, Liverpool got thrashed, due largely to Julio Baptista's four goals. Sian... Well I'm still hoping the American owners can bring some sort of success back to the Red of Merseyside. English Premiership trophy must go back to Liverpool sooner than later. Heh...

work

So much... Just so much work these days. Well that's Sec 3 life shoved right in front of me, with all those work that the teachers gave. I vividly remember that Friday, the day before the dreaded Sec 3 Camp, some of the subject teachers, who couldn't have lessons with us that day, coming in when we were watching those few movies, giving us stacks of homework... Dreadful!
Haha... There's English work, Chemistry had so much work attached to three pieces of paper...
Heh... Physics had two sheets of paper, each page divided to four parts, which equals to around how many pages? I
din even bother to count... Mathematics brought much homework in a small piece of paper!!! Of course the questions had to be referred to the Five Year Series... English gave out 3 set of work, 2 thin ones, one
oh-so thick one!!! Two comprehension in just one set!!!
WTF?! Haha... But then again this is for our own good right???
Hmm... Think again...
Heh~ And of course there were always those projects...
Aahh... Projects... Everybody just loves doing so right... NOT! So here's the list of work I have to complete, with the time I had since I got back from camp, and preferably by the end of this week.:
- English Passion Porfolio (Done)
*Write-Up + Presentation*
- English Worksheets (1Done)
*3 Sets*
- Physics Worksheet (Done)
*1~2 Sets*
- Mathematics Holiday Assignment (Done)
*Most Topics' Question (FYS)*
- Chemistry Worksheet (1Done)
*2~4 Sets*
- Chinese Work (1Done)
*Composition & Letter-Writing*
- Physics Project
- Social Studies Project
Sadly, I hope my group could do the starting part of the two projects and I would definitely do the majority, if not all, of the remaining finishing touches to those projects, when school reopens. So far I have completed, with some unnoticed blanks, 2 sets of English worksheets, the multiple choices for the Chemistry, which also means 1 set, I guess... English Porfolio Project, I think I'll do the write-up during the course of this week and think about whatever presentation when I'm away... Haha... One set of Physics work is done, I tink... And what is left is a lot of Mathematics work, a lot of Chemistry work too, Chinese compos, 2 English compres, and finish up whatever I can, and leave the rest for school reopen... Heh... Sianz...

Music is like everything to me.
Haha... A
lil' exaggerated
yeah..? Of course its half of what the world means to me... Obviously I love soccer too, but music should be around par with my favourite sport...
Yeah... Soccer and Music, not too bad a combination of areas of passion...
Yeah...So now of course it won't be soccer, just with the title you could tell...
Hmm here are some of the songs I've been listening to, these are quite old songs, but doesn't mean it
suck.:
- Accidentally In Love - Counting Crows (made famous by the movie Shrek, I think... Kinda old but still nice)
- I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing - Aerosmith (heard it was a song in the movie Armageddon)
- Chariot - Gavin DeGraw (quite old song, but just got it so felt like a nice song)
- Too Little Too Late - JoJo (nice song...)
- How To Save A Life - The Fray (very good song too)
- I'm Not Missing You - Stacie Orrico (surprising pick huh.... But nice song...)
And now these are the much recent ones, I think...
Haha.:
- Makes Me Wonder - Maroon 5 (nice tune and beat to da song)
- What I've Done - Linkin Park (the music video had quite a meaning on the song)
- Runaway - Avril Lavigne (nice beat to the song too)
- Girlfriend - Avril Lavigne (everyone's favourite now... isn't it, haha...)
- Over You - Daughtry (nice song... very good)
- Its' Not Over - Daughtry (nice song too! Haha...)
- Home - Daughtry (very good song, damn nice...)
- Feels Like Tonight - Daughtry (another quality song...)
- Everything - Michael Buble (nice soft song...)
- Over It - Katharine McPhee (how could I miss this one? haha...)
So its seem you can infer I am a Daughtry fan...
Yeah got influenced by H.P.
Haha... But his songs are really good, third place for American Idol, right? Not bad for third
huh... So this are my current favourites... Can go check
'em out if you
wanna... Disagree with any? Or did I miss out anything? Just tell me
lor.... Tag!
Haha...

beckham
So I was really glad to see David Beckham back in the England squad. More so, England played pretty well, I guess, against Brazil. Kieron Dyer was another one that was impressing, and I was astonished by his immense amounts of pace. Jamie Carragher and Ledley King looked fine. Even goalie Paul Robinson looked much better, counting out his several poor clearances. David Beckham managed to get good crosses in. Even substitute Jermaine Jenas looked pretty decent. Frank Lampard didn't play his usual Chelsea best. And then there was Steven Gerrard. Much praise for him after and during the match. Even a report from soccernet.com reflected on Steven Gerrard's magnificent performance.:
"Many would have thought Steve McClaren would have taken the opportunity of a friendly to drop the Chelsea midfielder after a series of below-par performances in international matches. Not so. McClaren kept faith with the Gerrard-Lampard axis, yet at times it looked as if Gerrard was doing the work of two. First surging forward to create an opportunity for Beckham via a free-kick, and then tracking the run of Kaka beautifully before dispossessing the Milan forward with a perfectly timed slide tackle. If any of the England players can truly call themselves 'world class' it is the Liverpool skipper."
So by far Steven Gerrard was man-of-the-match for England against Brazil, proving yet again how good he is, after scoring two against Andorra in the more important Euro 2008 qualifiers. Hopefully Steven Gerrard can continue to inspire England... Oh yeah... Haha...
