So tonight the curtains fell on Singapore's GOAL 2010 World Cup finals dream, after losing 2-0 to Saudi Arabia, despite a spirited performance. Ahh Singapore needed a win to stay alive in the qualification, and it all could have been so different had left winger Khairul Amri scored after being through on goal, one-on-one against the Saudi goalie.
John Wilkinson looked poor in midfield, despite one or two surging forward runs. Midfielder-turned-winger Shahril Ishak looked very out of place on the wing. He tried to get pass his opponents but failed and his crosses were poor. He should have pulled one back late in the second half.
Hassan Sunny looked good in place of the injured Lionel Lewis.
Alex Duric's touch was poor on the night.
In four years time I guess...
