The 2007/08 Champions League Final comes to a close in just less than 30 hours time, with the same two teams which competed for the English Premiership title on the final day, also in this final. Manchester United and Chelsea will do battle for that exclusive trophy, argh... I'm pissed. Man Utd can win it for the third time in their history, whilst Chelsea are just in their first final... That's why most say Chelsea have no history. =)
These are the probable line-ups for both teams, and their substitutes:
Manchester United1 van der Sar - definite first choice, Kuzszcak suck... 6 Brown - a little bit hard on him if Neville came straight back right?5 Ferdinand - solid, composed...15 Vidic - towering presence, what about the recent injuries?3 Evra - fast, quick, offensive-minded, yet equally defensive7 C. Ronaldo - what else do i need to say?16 Carrick - pass master on his day, his days are rare though ; )18 Scholes - confirmed place, to make up for '994 Hargreaves - to protect the back four and Scholes himself...11 Giggs (C) - 759 appearances to beat Sir Bobby Charlton's record...32 Tevez - a small one to lead the line compared to Chelsea's DrogbaProbable Subs:
10 Rooney, if he is deemed fit for the bench, he is sure to come on. 17 Nani, to add attacking flair if needed or just to come on for the tired Giggs. 24 Fletcher, for Scholes if he is tired or to add much work rate. 22 O'Shea, add some defensive presence. 13 Park, all the matches he has played this season, United have won, other than that, he is still has much to offer.Chelsea1 Cech - definite starter5 Essien - Belletti and Ferreira would feel insulted, but Essien is the best option for right back6 Carvalho - fast, alert...26 Terry (C) - leader, great headerer of the ball, Tevez won't win any aerial battles3 A. Cole - quick, offensive-minded, a la Evra13 Ballack - huge midfield presence, great at attacking headers and defensive duties4 Makelele - sitting in the hole has been his livelihood, needs to shut Scholes up though...8 Lampard - his runs into the box will cause chaos for Hargreaves and gang...10 J. Cole - tricky fella, he will give the United full-backs a runaround on his day...11 Drogba - Vidic and Ferdinand will both need to climb above him to stop him21 Kalou - unpredictable, but definitely better than MaloudaProbable Subs:
7 Shevchenko, what's the odds of him scoring the winning goal from the bench? 12 Obi Mikel, 'heightier' compared to Makelele. 24 Wright-Phillips, über fast if you ask me. 35 Belletti, defensive cover if needed. 33 Anelka, powerful on his day, could force one inside van der Sar.SO this are the two teams I think will be brought out. Good luck Avram Grant and Alex Ferguson. No prizes to who will win, very unpredictable. Whoever plays well,
won't necessarily win... Luck will definitely be needed in this one. Other information is that this
referee, apparently Chelsea's bogey ref, is the man chosen to blow the kick-off whistle during this glamorous game.
Matters outside the CL Final, not football,
Chelsea apparently owe £578 million to owner Abramovich. C'mon man, recall those loans now?! And that Rafa Benitez have finally signed his first player, not Gareth Barry unfortunately, but another free transfer from Germany,
Philipp Degen on a free transfer. He's a right back, and I hope he turns out half as good as what Andriy Voronin has brought to the club so far. Then he would be a bargain, if you asked me...
Can't wait for the final! Bye~!
